Generic- Generic Label ProcessingUpdated 9 months ago

This article clarifies the internal process at Nice Commerce for shipping orders labeled as "Generic/Generic".

  • As a preface, Nice Commerce encourages our clients to align details and pertinent facts well in advance of a small to mid-size retail fulfillment partner being brought on.
  • This allows Nice to set up any third-party billing in advance into ShipHero directly to dissuade from using the Generic/ generic shipping process.
  • Generic/ Generic is a fail-safe, last-resort fulfillment process initiated to assist clients. This is not a normal means and methods avenue of fulfillment and requires manual work to properly process and bill each order.

The term "Generic/Generic" is used to describe orders that need to be shipped to retailers with specific requirements. These requirements often involve the use of a third-party shipping account or other special arrangements that do not align with the standard fulfillment process of Nice Commerce.

When tasked with shipping for a retailer, it's crucial to research whether they require the use of a third-party shipping account. If so, encourage the retailer to provide this information at least 10 days prior to order processing. This timeframe allows for the seamless integration of the account into ShipHero, thereby reducing the need for manual processing.

In instances where a retailer fails to provide this information, or Nice Commerce and ShipHero are unable to successfully input all necessary data, all orders classified as Generic/Generic will be processed and shipped within a window of 48-72 hours.

This timeframe may vary based on order volume and complexity as well as the ability for the warehouse to manually key in all pertinent data, then transpose back to ShipHero for proper fulfillment as well as inventory accuracy.

Due to the complexity, each Generic/ Generic order that is processed from Nice requires manual data input, as well as separate fulfillment from a supervisor.

There is a $10 per order fee associated with this service.
