Amazon FBA Shipments and How to EnterUpdated 8 months ago
WHAT ARE FBA SHIPMENTS?
Amazon uses a network of distribution centers throughout the country and world where FBA shipments can be directed to Charlotte, Dallas, etc. Shipments are created when replenishment is needed for a product or in prep for a busy time of year (Prime Day, Black Friday, and more.)
WHAT IS AMAZON PREP?
Units also may need to be polybagged depending on the product requirements, or other additional steps taken depending on the product type. For example, Amazon requires 2 seals for applicable physical products but rules are applied depending on the product type. Please review your Seller Central account to understand your product's requirements
To get units ready for FBA, you have three options.
1. Your products are approved to ship as is or your manufacturer/ co-packer can complete any Amazon prep needed. Depending on how quickly your products move, some brands choose to have Amazon-specific SKUs to maintain sales and inventory
2. Nice Commerce can complete FBA prep through our inbound or outbound SOW processes. Pricing depends on the project, but your per-unit rate decreases with volume.
3. For a set per-unit fee and if the products qualify, Amazon can prep your units upon arrival as the first step to their receiving process. Check-in timelines will vary based on how quickly Amazon preps the units.
HOW TO ENTER AN AMAZON FBA SHIPMENT INTO SHIPHERO:
Steps for adding an FBA Shipment to ShipHero and using client-provided Amazon Case + Shipping labels:
"FBA_shipmentI.D. " (Ex. FBA_123678923)
- Orders have to be added in individual units
- Set the shipping Carrier and Method to Generic / Third Party or Freight
- The order number (FBA_shipmentID) will trigger a rule for the FBA shipment to be placed into our Amazon order process.
4. Once the shipment is processed with the case labels and shipping labels added, Nice will have the carrier scan the Amazon packages to update the tracking
